Our eclectic team of writers from around Australia – and a couple beyond – with decades of combined experience and interest in all fields.

A new Australian crime drama based on the Belgian series 'De Twaalf (The Twelve)' is currently in development.

The show, a 10-part series, tells of 12 ordinary people who are selected for jury duty in a traumatising and controversial murder trial, where a woman is accused of killing a trial. Each of the 12 people bring their own histories with them to the court room.

Through the multiple lenses of these jurors, we see the fragility and imbalances of the law.

"In one of the most challenging of times for our industry there has never been a more important moment to consolidate our energies, talent and passion, and reaffirm our commitment to local drama," Foxtel's Executive Director Of Television Brian Walsh says.

"We have been looking for the ideal vehicle to replace our popular series, Wentworth, and we have every confidence that The Twelve will continue the tradition of bringing gripping Australian drama to the screen.

"The series takes on the crime genre through the lens of jurors. It is a bold and fresh approach to the classic murder mystery story and will boast a big ensemble cast and an equally impressive team of writers and creatives."

'The Twelve' is set to join a slate of Australian drama produced for Foxtel including 'Love My Way', 'Wentworth', 'A Place To Call Home' and 'Lambs Of God'.

'The Twelve' is slated for production in 2021.
