Our eclectic team of writers from around Australia – and a couple beyond – with decades of combined experience and interest in all fields.

"My grandmother always told me that if the dead weren't given a proper burial, they'd become ghosts."

When a tomb in Vietnam is accidentally opened on the eve of the Hungry Ghost Festival, a vengeful spirit is unleashed bringing the dead with him.

Chilling, captivating and utterly compelling, 'Hungry Ghosts' (filmed and set in Melbourne) follows four families who find themselves haunted by ghosts from the past.

As these spirits wreak havoc across the Vietnamese-Australian community, May Le (Catherine Văn-Davies), a young woman who has never taken responsibility for who she is, must finally accept her destiny and help bring balance to a community still traumatised by war.

Alongside Văn-Davies, the ensemble cast features Bryan Brown ('Bloom'), Clare Bowen ('Nashville'), Ferdinand Hoang ('Rake'), Gareth Yuen ('LA Confidential'), Justine Clarke ('Dead Lucky'), Ryan Corr ('Holding The Man'), Jillian Nguyen ('The True History Of The Kelly Gang'), Susie Porter ('Wentworth') and Gary Sweet ('House Husbands').

'Hungry Ghosts' premieres over four consecutive nights, 24-27 August, on SBS and SBS On Demand.
