Melbourne WebFest 2017 Celebrates The Best In Online Entertainment Content

Melbourne WebFest
Our eclectic team of writers from around Australia – and a couple beyond – with decades of combined experience and interest in all fields.

Melbourne WebFest (MWF) is Australia’s international web series festival. MWF was the fourth festival of its kind in the world, and remains the biggest celebration of web series in the Southern Hemisphere.

The growth of entertainment in the form of digital series is becoming faster and faster, rising to challenge traditional modes of producing, distributing and engaging with screen content. Creators of web series are a driving force in the evolution, creation and presentation of these stories being told.

The festival is working to acknowledge digital screen producers and is creating a hub for networking as well as professional development in the heart of Melbourne. It's also a great chance for the general public to be exposed to and experience some of the best in digital series entertainment not just from Australia but around the world. Throughout the four-day event there will be screenings, keynotes, discussion panels, masterclasses and a live pitching competition too.

In addition to the annual official selection, Melbourne WebFest also promotes Australian productions with its Spotlight programme, which will be screening on the first day of the festival.

This year brings with it and exciting new addition. The WebFest is introducing an award for student series. This means that student productions can submit at a reduced fee. Submissions within this category can only be eligible for the student award and will be screened alongside the festival's Spotlight programme.

Head along to experience some of the greatest web series content in the world.

Melbourne WebFest takes place from 29 June-2 July.
