Our eclectic team of writers from around Australia – and a couple beyond – with decades of combined experience and interest in all fields.

A new Melbourne indie film about the trials and tribulations of a young musician will feature Australian hip hop artist Mantra.

Chris Pahlow's independant debut feature film, 'Play It Safe', puts the spotlight on Melbourne's diverse, indie-music scene. 'Play It Safe' follows Jamie, a 26-year-old musician, who is out of work and down on his luck. When Jamie's band breaks up, he's left with no money, no career and no girlfriend. Now he teaches piano at a soul-destroying music school. Will he take a risk and follow his dreams? Or will he surrender to his new-found unhappiness and play it safe?

The film features music by local indie acts, including Mantra (who plays Andy in the film) and Nathan Liow aka Propaganda Machine in the film.
