We already knew 2015 was going to be a big year at your local multiplex. It just got a little bit bigger.
Jurassic World, replacing the cancelled Jurassic Park IV on the slate, has been announced today with a release date of June 12, 2015. Naturally, it'll be in 3D.
Colin Trevorrow, previously announced as the director of Jurassic Park IV, is still on board for Jurassic World. The Safety Not Guaranteed director is an idiosyncratic choice for a franchise of this scale, which is always appreciated. Trevorrow has written the screenplay with Derek Connolly; Frank Marshall and Pat Crowley will join Steven Spielberg as producers.
Here's hoping the raptors haven't figured out how to use guns yet.
