The countdown to Supanova number 100 in late 2024 has begun, as the number 95 event approaches for Melbourne and the Gold Coast.
Making the trip through time and space to appear on Sunday in both cities, is Jodie Whittaker, best known for her iconic performance as the Thirteenth Doctor in ‘Doctor Who’. She’s also been on British crime drama ‘Broadchurch’, and BBC One’s ‘Time’.
From one small screen legend to another, there’s Giancarlo Esposito, with more than 200 credits to his name. He rose to mainstream prominence in ‘Breaking Bad’ and its acclaimed spin-off ‘Better Call Saul’. Plus, he’s played Moff Gideon in ‘The Mandalorian’, and Stan Edgar in ‘The Boys’.
Also from ‘The Boys’ comes Karen Fukuhara, visiting Supanova for the first time since breaking out as Katana in ‘Suicide Squad’. She has since starred in ‘The Boys’, led her voice to Glimmer in ‘She-Ra And The Princesses Of Power’, and Lady Himi in ‘The Boy And The Heron’.
Magical fan-favourite Evanna Lynch, who captured hearts as Luna Lovegood in ‘Harry Potter’, is set to return too. She was nominated for multiple awards including the IFTA Award for Best Actress in a Lead Role – for ‘My Name is Emily’.
Voice acting legend Phil LaMarr was unable to attend this year’s Melbourne and Gold Coast events but will make it up to Supa-Fans in April 2024. He’s best known as ‘Justice League’’s Green Lantern, ‘Futurama’’s Hermes Conrad, and the titular character in ‘Samurai Jack’. Phil is joined by Gregg Berger (‘Transformers’) and Jeremy Shada (‘Adventure Time’).
Spidey fans will have the opportunity to meet international artist Mike Zeck, renowned for his essential Spider-Man and definitive Kraven The Hunter storyline ‘Kraven’s Last Hunt’.
Rounding out the first wave is literary legend T.Kingfisher, the adult fiction pseudonym of Ursula Vernon.
Supanova Comic Con & Gaming is on at Melbourne Showgrounds (6-7 April), and Gold Coast Convention & Exhibition Centre (13-14 April).
