え。。。すごいね!

It's time to bust out the Hello Kitty backpacks, Sailor Moon costumes and sushi for the 17th annual Japanese Film Festival, which has just added 20 additional titles to the mix for Sydney and Melbourne.

Among the mix are internationally acclaimed dramas, wacky 'only in Japan' comedies, several thought-provoking titles and 'so hot right now' releases.

Thirteen box office hits have been announced in addition to the national program, with seven more set to be announced October 8.

Last year's festival boasted an audience of around 25,000 nation-wide, the largest Japanese film festival outside of Japan. This year is the first that the line-up has extended away from the two major flagship cities to include Brisbane, Perth and Canberra.

The films this year include action thrillers such as Shield of Straw and The Devil's Path, side-splitting comedies such as HK/Forbidden Super Hero,tear-jerking love stories like Orpheus' Lyre among many other Japanese inspired wonders.

For lovers of Japanese culture, get ready, this film festival is for you. For a full list of films and dates, visit the festival's website.
