If there was a pill that could give you five minutes of pure power, would you take it?
The evolution of the superhero film arrives with Netflix's next blockbuster offering, as Jamie Foxx stars in 'Project Power' – a mashing of the standard cop action flick and insane super powers.
The movie's premise flows from a mysterious pill that's surfaced on the streets of New Orleans that when taken unlocks superhero powers in the taker – for a very limited time.
Who wouldn't want bulletproof skin, invisibility, and super strength? Maybe those whose develop a deadly reaction to the drug.
Foxx is former soldier Art who, fuelled by a secret vendetta associated with the baddies peddling the new drug, tag-teams with a local cop Frank (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) and teenage dealer (Dominique Fishback - 'The Deuce') to tackle the city's escalating crime.
In order to defeat the nefarious group responsible for producing the pill, Art and Frank must ingest the very thing they're wanting to eradicate.
Directed by 'Catfish' duo Ariel Schulman and Henry Joost, the film also features American rapper Machine Gun Kelly, alongside Rodrigo Santoro ('Westworld', 'Reprisal'), Amy Landecker ('Transparent') and Allen Maldonado ('The Last O.G.').
