Italian Film Festival 2020 First Programme

'Pinocchio'
Our eclectic team of writers from around Australia – and a couple beyond – with decades of combined experience and interest in all fields.

The 21st Italian Film Festival will hit cinema screens nationally this September, showcasing a superb selection of new films from Italy.

The festival will kick off with a live-action version of 'Pinocchio' from 'Gomorrah' and 'Dogman' Director Matteo Garrone and starring Roberto Benigni as Geppetto.

Cinemagoers will be transported to amazing locations in Italy and afar including Rome, Naples, Palermo, Cerobbio and Morocco.

I HATE SUMMER
'I Hate Summer'

"Although the Festival will look a little different this year, we will continue to share our love for Italian cinema, language and culture and give our loyal audience something to look forward to with a chance to escape to Italy," Festival Director Elysia Zeccola says. "Nothing compares to the big screen experience and that special feeling of a shared emotional connection."

Other highlights from the Italian Film Festival programme include Marco Bellocchio's 'The Traitor', Ferzan Ozpetek's 'The Goddess Of Fortune' and Aldo, Giovanni and Giacomo's 'I Hate Summer'.

The full programme will be announced soon.
