It Looks Like A New Pokemon Live-Action Series Is In Development

'Detective Pikachu' came out in 2019.

Seems like it’s a pretty good time to be a ‘Pokemon’ fan right now.

To be fair, the legacy of ‘Pokemon’ has constantly presented itself in different ways since its inception in the ‘90s. . . Whether it’s in games (still being released to this day), TV series, films, or of course, the trading card game. So it’s a pretty fulfilling experience to be a ‘Pokemon’ lover overall.

But now, it looks like the world of ‘Pokemon’ will get the live-action treatment that so many animated/cartoon franchises have been given recently. Reports are saying it will be in the same vein as ‘Detective Pikachu’. . . And if it’s anything like that film, it will most likely be received pretty well.

According to Variety, the show will be a Netflix show helmed by ‘Lucifer’ co-showrunner and executive producer Joe Henderson.

Don’t get too excited though – back in 2015 it was rumoured that Nintendo and Netflix were teaming up for a live-action ‘Legend Of Zelda’ series which was reportedly cancelled due to leaks.

With this news, it seems like Netflix is inching slowly toward being a more game-driven platform. ‘The Witcher’ show is a hit, as is ‘Castlevania’, and there are ‘Resident Evil’ and ‘Tomb Raider’ shows in the works. That’s not where it ends either. Recently, the streaming giant has revealed plans to deliver playable games to its subscribers.

What’s on your ‘Pokemon’ live-action series wish list? Are you a hardcore ‘Pokemon’ stan and would rather this not exist at all?!
