Hugo Weaving And Angus Sampson Kick-Off The Mule In Australia

Hugo Weaving
Our eclectic team of writers from around Australia – and a couple beyond – with decades of combined experience and interest in all fields.

Ahead of 'The Mule's digital release, actors Hugo Weaving and Angus Sampson will be attending exclusive Q&A preview screenings of the film.

Set in Melbourne and Bangkok 'The Mule' is a darkly comic ride through crime, corruption and one man’s ability to defy his bodily functions. Inspired by true events,'The Mule' tells the story of a naive man who is detained by federal police with lethal narcotics hidden in his stomach. Alone and afraid, he makes a desperate choice to withhold the evidence, literally, becoming a 'human time bomb' and dragging cops, criminals and family into his impossible escapade.

Following the screenings, the actors will speak about their feature, which Sampson also co-directed and co-wrote, before opening the discussion to the audience. Also starring Leigh Whannell, Ewen Leslie, Geoff Morrell, Georgina Haig, Noni Hazlehurst and John Noble, 'The Mule's release follows successful premieres at 2014's 'South by Southwest' festival & BFI London Film Festival as well as screenings at 'Busan' in Korea. More cast members are yet to be announced for the tour.
