If a fortune cookie told us this a few years ago, we wouldn’t believe it!

Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis have reunited, as production begins on Disney's ‘Freaky Friday 2’. Lohan and Curtis will reprise their roles as Anna and Tess Coleman. . . But that’s not all.

Other returning cast members from the original film include Mark Harmon, Chad Michael Murray, Christina Vidal Mitchell, Haley Hudson, Lucille Soong, Stephen Tobolowsky, and Rosalind Chao. They are joined by Julia Butters, Sophia Hammons, Manny Jacinto, and Maitreyi Ramakrishnan.

The original ‘Freaky Friday’ starring Lindsay and Jamie Lee Curtis was a huge success. For those needing a refresher. . . Tess and Anna are at the centre of a mysterious body swap saga, after each eating a fortune cookie at a Chinese restaurant. Chaos ensues, as Tess (in Anna’s body) realises her daughter’s woes, and Anna (in Tess’s body) struggles with her mum’s job and preparing for her upcoming wedding.

Eventually, the pair realises that showing selfless love toward one another will reverse the switch.

Now, 22 years after the first, the sequel is set to hit our cinema screens in 2025.

The film picks up years after Tess and Anna endured an identity crisis. Anna now has a daughter of her own and a soon-to-be stepdaughter. As they navigate the myriad challenges that come when two families merge, Tess and Anna discover that lightning might indeed strike twice.

‘Freaky Friday 2’ is in cinemas in 2025.
