Where do I start… when 'Freaks And Geeks' arrived on my television screen way back in the late '90s, it was a burst of amazing-ness that showcased a new direction of what television could offer. Similar to what 'The Sopranos' did for the industry.
Although it was short-lived (two seasons) it welcomed the arrival of a slew of today's comedic stars: Seth Rogen, James Franco and Jason Segel are all households names while the show also featured the writing and directing talents of a young Judd Apatow (you know, producer/ writer of 'Girls').

But the two stars of the show are siblings Lindsay and Sam Weir (played by Linda Cardellini – Sam Taggert from 'ER' – and John Francis Daley: who co-wrote 'Horrible Bosses'). Each has their own, universal struggle with surviving high school (avoiding the school bully, first kisses, skipping classes et al) in the early 1980s that's as endearing at times as it is socially awkward at others.
While it maybe set 30 years ago, everyone will manage to find some connection to the slew of characters that inhabit the school yard. Plus try getting the show's theme song, Joan Jett and the Blackhearts' 'Bad Reputation', outta your head after one listen.
If you're already watched it, take a step back down memory lane; if not, this is the show you should have watched before 'Stranger Things' came along last year. Oh, and spot the moment when Biff from 'Back To The Future' makes an appearance as the school's gym instructor. Bless.
