First Watch: 'The Croods: A New Age' Trailer

'The Croods: A New Age' lands in cinemas soon.
Our eclectic team of writers from around Australia – and a couple beyond – with decades of combined experience and interest in all fields.

Earth's first family, The Croods, are back on the big screen and in search of a new home.

Led by Grug (Nic Cage), The Croods have survived their fair share of dangers and disasters including fanged, prehistoric beasts as well as dealing their daughter (Eep, voiced by Emma Stone) get heart eyes over a new boyfriend.

When we last saw them (in 2013), The Croods were on a beach following the light to 'Tomorrow'. But now they face something that will shake their pack to its core and make them reconsider everything they hold true – another family.

The Bettermans (emphasis on the 'better') live in an elaborate tree house, with amazing inventions and irrigated acres of fresh produce.

Phil and Hope Betterman (voiced by Peter Dinklage - 'Game Of Thrones'- and Leslie Mann - 'Blockers' respectively), and their daughter Dawn (Kelly Marie Tran - 'Star Wars: Episode VIII - The Last Jedi') are a couple of steps above the Croods on the evolutionary ladder and take them in as the world's first house guests.

Tensions soon surface between the two families. However, when a new threat threatens both families, the Croods and Betterman's rally together embracing their differences, drawing strength from each other and forging a future together.

'The Croods: A New Age' is coming to cinemas soon.
