First Watch: Nic Cage Plays Himself In 'The Unbearable Weight Of Massive Talent'

'The Unbearable Weight Of Massive Talent' lands in cinemas from 21 April.
Our eclectic team of writers from around Australia – and a couple beyond – with decades of combined experience and interest in all fields.

Attention all Nicolas Cage fans; the great man has finally taken on the role of a lifetime. . . playing himself!

'The Unbearable Weight Of Massive Talent' finds the fictionalised version of the icon of Hollywood and arthouse cinema facing mounting financial debts.

That's when the offer from a 'super-fan' – played by Pedro Pascal ('The Mandalorian', 'Narcos') – to make an appearance at a birthday party for $1 million arises.

Although not initally keen, Nic accepts and thus begins a comedic adventure that sees him reprise some of his most iconic and beloved on-screen characters in order to save himself and his loved ones.

The cast also features Sharon Horgan ('Pulling'), Alessandra Mastronardi ('Masters Of None'), Lily Sheen, Tiffany Haddish ('Girls Trip') and Neil Patrick Harris ('A Series Of Unfortunate Events').
