From Oscar-nominated writer and director Greta Gerwig comes the camp and adult-friendly ‘Barbie’, a colourful live-action exploration of the world of iconic Mattel toy doll Barbie. A teaser trailer for the film late last year revealed how the film would look by parodying ‘2001: A Space Odyssey’. . . Now, we get a full look at the world and small hints at the plot.
Something else gathered from the new trailer is ‘Barbie’’s immense cast – alongside stars Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling are appearances from Kate McKinnon, Will Ferrell, America Ferrera, Michael Cera, Simu Liu, Ritu Arya, Helen Mirren, and Dua Lipa.
Gerwig directed ‘Barbie’ from a screenplay by Gerwig and Oscar nominee Noah Baumbach, based on Barbie by Mattel. The film’s producers are Oscar nominee David Heyman, Robbie, Tom Ackerley and Robbie Brenner, with Michael Sharp, Josey McNamara, Ynon Kreiz, Courtenay Valenti, Toby Emmerich and Cate Adams serving as executive producers.
‘Barbie’ is in cinemas 21 July.
