Mick Jagger stars in the movie 'The Burnt Orange Heresy'.
Our eclectic team of writers from around Australia – and a couple beyond – with decades of combined experience and interest in all fields.

Despite being well into his eighth decade of life, iconic rocker Mick Jagger shows no signs of slowing down with 2020 seeing the Rolling Stones frontman return to the art of acting.

Not since he starred alongside Andy Garcia in 2001's 'The Man From Elysian Fields' has Jagger had such a major role in a Hollywood film.

Based on the book by Charles Willeford, 'The Burnt Orange Heresy' follows the charming and ambitious art critic, James Figueras (Claes Bang: 'The Square', 'The Affair'), who has fallen from grace. He spends his days in Milan lecturing witless tourists about art history.

James only glimmer of hope is a new-found love interest, the enigmatic American Berenice Hollis (Australian Elizabeth Debicki: 'The Kettering Incident' and 'The Great Gatsby').

An opportunity strikes when he is contacted by wealthy art dealer Joseph Cassidy (Jagger) who summons James to his villa on Lake Como and asks him to steal a painting from the legendary reclusive artist, Jerome Debney (the immortal Donald Sutherland).

Soon, James' greed and ambition get the better of him and he finds himself caught in a web of his own making.

'The Burnt Orange Heresy' will be show in select cinemas from 23 July, 2020.
