"Don't worry, this sword is mine!"
Kids of the '80s, it's time to level up the nostalgia feels with the live-action reboot of 'Masters Of The Universe' landing in 2026, thrusting He-Man into the modern-day spotlight with his origin story.
To be portrayed by Nicholas Galitzine, who came to prominence with the 2024 period drama series 'Mary & George' as well as the rom-com movie 'The Idea Of You', Prince Adam is just another ordinary office worker with a penchant for large swords.
As he's told by one superior: "This obsession with nerd stuff and sword things, it's not a good look for human resources."
When Adam receives an anonymous message saying they've found his sword – you know, the Sword Of Power aka Grayskull – it sets in motion his return to his home planet Eternia where talking tigers, spaceships and magic swords are commonplace.
However, when he lands and finds his home shattered under the fiendish rule of Skeletor (Jared Leto is cast perfectly as the supervillain), Adam must join forces with his closest allies – Teela (Camila Mendes) and Duncan/ Man-At-Arms (Idris Elba) – and embrace his true destiny as He-Man; the most powerful man in the universe.
Directed by Travis Knight ('Bumblebee', 'Wildwood') 'Masters Of The Universe' lands in cinemas from 4 June.
