Get ready for the goosebumps, 'cause Academy Award winner Jennifer Hudson looks and sounds a-Mazing as the Queen of Soul, Aretha Franklin, in the new Hollywood film 'RESPECT'.
The biopic, directed by acclaimed theatre director and Tony Award winner Liesl Tommy, traces the rise of Aretha's career – from a child singing in her father's church’s choir to her international superstardom.
"You need to disturb the peace when you can get no peace," proclaims Aretha in the trailer, a statement that sadly still resonates in 2020.
Hudson is joined by an ensemble cast that includes Forest Whitaker, Marlon Wayans, Audra McDonald, and Mary J. Blige who portrays Dinah Washington, who was known as the Queen of Blues in the 1950s.
'RESPECT' lands in Australian cinemas in 2021.
