Academy Award-winner Emma Stone ('La La Land') stars in Disney's 'Cruella', which today (18 February) gets its first trailer.
The film is, of course, the origin story of one of cinema's most notorious – and fashionable – villains: Cruella de Vil. 'Cruella' is set in 1970s London amidst the punk rock revolution. It follows a young grifter named Estella, determined to make a name for herself with her designs.
She befriends a pair of young thieves and they work together to build a life for themselves. On day, Estelle's fashion flair catches the eye of fashion legend Baroness von Hellman (Emma Thompson). . . But their relationship sets in motion a course of events which will cause Estella to embrace her wicked side and become Cruella.
'Cruella' is directed by Craig Gillespie ('I, Tonya') with Emma Stone, Michelle Wright, Jared LeBoff and Glenn Close serving as executive producers.
'Cruella' is released 27 May.
