Someone better order extra rolls of high-grade plastic; it's only been a minute (seven years in fact), but Michael C. Hall is set to reprise his role as the moralistic serial killer Dexter.
Showtime has ordered a ten episode limited series that will see Hall reunite wth the series' original show runner, Clyde Phillips.Production is expected to start early next year, with the series scheduled to debut spring 2021.
When 'Dexter' ended in 2013, fans were left with a glimpse of Dexter living life as a lumberjack a world away from the sunny, glamorous locales of Miami.
"Dexter is such a special series, both for its millions of fans and for Showtime, as this breakthrough show helped put our network on the map many years ago," Showtime Entertainment president Gary Levine says.
"We would only revisit this unique character if we could find a creative take that was truly worthy of the brilliant, original series.
"Well, I am happy to report that Clyde Phillips and Michael C. Hall have found it, and we can't wait to shoot it and show it to the world."
