The live version of innovative storytelling web series 'Critical Role' is coming to Australia.
Set to celebrate its 10th anniversary in 2025, the acclaimed series that sees voice actors playing a tabletop version of Dungeons & Dragons, Critical Role: 10 Years & Still Rolling interactive shows will land in Sydney and Melbourne next June. What began as nerdy gathering soon gained cult-like status online, going viral across Twitch and YouTune, 'Critical Role' has now grown to become ne of the fastest growing media companies dedicated to storytelling, community and imagination.
"Embarking on a global journey to bring Critical Role to the stage in brand new cities with our ragtag group of adventurers is nothing short of a dream," Marisha Ray, co-founder and Creative Director at 'Critical Role' says, "let alone during our tenth year of telling stories together; I couldn't imagine a better way to celebrate!"
The Sydney and Melbourne gatherings will be standalone events, with both having a loose narrative connection, while weaving new stories within the world of Exandria. The founding cast of 'Critical Role' will be in attendance including Matthew Mercer, Ashley Johnson, Marisha Ray, Taliesin Jaffe, Travis Willingham, Sam Riegel, Laura Bailey and Liam O'Brien.
Party members from two separate Critical Role campaigns – played by the founding members – will join forces as they fight a common threat, threaded together by Game Master, Matthew Mercer. Comedian and musician Tom Cardy will emcee both events. Two cities, one overarching story, familiar faces in new combinations await!
