For those who repeatedly re-watch your own Snapchat story in sheer admiration of your unrivalled hilarity and cleverness (and by 'those' we mean everyone – yes, we all do it), fancy using your videography skills to pocket a spare few thousand dollars?
Optus has launched a national short film competition, rewarding the winner with a staggering cash prize.
Connect5 encourages content creators and filmmakers of all capabilities to create a five minute video focused on the theme, 'Connecting Lives.'
Both industry professionals and every day mobile users are urged to portray a powerful message via video, by capturing what exactly 'connecting lives' means to them.
Fronting the Connect5 competition is retired Australian actor, voiceover artist and philanthropist Samuel Johnson, who says, “Despite geographical and language barriers, over 176 million people around the world use YouTube to view videos.

“Video content is the ultimate depiction of how connected our lives have become.”
Optus representative Megan Forster agrees, adding, “For many people, a mobile phone is their primary way of accessing the internet, and we have created Connect5 with these very people in mind.”
The real kicker is the mind-blowing prize: five minutes of video – judged according to originality of content, storytelling and cinematography – could see you and another winner take home $5000, plus, score an automatic entry into the regional finals held in Bangkok.
Furthermore, taking down the competition at the regional finals will reward you with a whopping US$30,000. By then, millions of people worldwide will have watched and marvelled at your short film ingenuity.
Entries can be uploaded online here until 30 September – a true chance to bring those ever-brilliant Snapchat stories to the table.
