'Teen Wolf' and 'Pretty Little Liars' star Cody Christian, has landed on Australian soil for the first time, visiting Adelaide for Oz Comic-Con.
Cody Christian is commonly known for his recurring roles as Mike Montgomery in 'Pretty Little Liars' and Theo Raeken in MTV's ‘Teen Wolf’. Talking to Cody, he describes his six-year journey and what it is like to work on-set for two popular television series.
“I got into 'Pretty Little Liars' at such a young age; I think I was only 14 when we filmed the pilot, right before my 15th birthday. So we’re talking a six-year journey at this point. I think the most incredible thing that’s happened is the amount of experience that I’ve been able to gain over the past couple of years and just being able to move forward... I’ve gotten a value amount of information over the past couple of years from working and being part of the productions.”

Both 'Pretty Little Liars' and 'Teen Wolf' have a wide fan demographic; and those fans will have the opportunity to meet Cody at this years Oz Comic-Con. “I can be approached by a 14-year-old and then by a 45-year-old, oddly enough is what has just happened [laughs]. It’s awesome that this show is able to reach so many people and have the fans support we do have.
“I don’t think anybody who jumped on this show [originally] from the pilot knew it was going to go this far, every single person is blown away. It has achieved monumental things, both 'Pretty Little Liars' and 'Teen Wolf' [both have recently wrapped up season six] it’s incredible. You’ve got to think how many shows actually surface these days and how many have had the run that either of these shows have had.”
Christian plays an important role in each popular series but has no struggles with doing so. “Because they are so different and at opposite ends of the spectrum it makes it very easy to build these characters, they are so different so there are no similarities. With different back-stories you get to create these characters, so there hasn’t really been any trouble being able to portray both of them... It’s great because I’m working [laughs], it’s a fantastic thing being apart of two shows, two productions that are so widely successful.”
Both shows have been running for approximately six years now, this has allowed Cody to form friendships with cast on-screen and off. “It’s great to have that relationship because the personal relationships that you are able to carry throughout a show [if you’re able to maintain them], it makes the work on set much easier and much more bearable.
“You have to look at a set or a production as a giant machine, if there is one part of the machine that has one screw or one cog not oiled correctly it’s going to affect everything. Being able to have and maintain those relationships just makes everything so much easier and enjoyable. I think ultimately, it affects the work that we are able to put out.”
By looking at Cody’s social media, it is no secret that he doesn’t mind indulging in Chipotle (US mexican food chain). Coming to Australia, he’ll have to find the next best thing, “first time in the country! I was told earlier that there’s an Australian version of Chipotle so I’ll have to go check that out. I’m obsessed with Chipotle so I’ll have to check that out!”

Chipotle-search aside, Christians acting career has only progressed each year. “Seeing this dream that started out as a passion when I was younger, develop [as it has being apart of both shows] and seeing it grow into what it has and knowing it’s just getting started. That alone is quite an experience, I must say.”
Cody Christian will be appearing at Adelaide’s Oz Comic-Con, 9-10 April 2016.
