One of the best Australian dramas of the past decade, 'Mr Inbetween' returns for a third and final season next month screening on Foxtel's Fox Showcase.
Created by, written and starring Scott Ryan – winner of AACTA Award (Best Lead Actor in a TV Drama) and a TV WEEK Logie Award (Most Outstanding Actor) in 2019 – and directed by Nash Edgerton, 'Mr Inbetween' follows Ray Shoesmith (Ryan).A career criminal dubbed 'The Magician' with a complex set of morals and ethics (that would make Dexter blush) who 'takes care of people', Ray is street-wise operator adept at disposing of nefarious characters as he is juggling a personal life that's at odds with his 'day job'.
The final season of 'Mr Inbetween' (which is filmed in Sydney) sees Ray mourning the lost of his brother Bruce (the final episode of S2 was harrowing to watch), while balancing home life between a viciously smart pre-teen daughter Brittany (Chika Yasumura) who's close to figuring out what her dad really does, and his ageing father Bill (Kenny Graham).
After cutting ties with his former boss Freddy (Damon Herriman), Ray is working freelance but feeling a sense of isolation despite business booming.
However, with criminal kingpin Rafael (Jeremy Sims) intensifying Ray's struggle and a romantic connection sparking with new colleague Zoe (Emily Barclay), an unexpected tragedy will make Ray question his career path once and for all.
