'A Dingo's Got My Baby: The Lindy Chamberlain Story' To Air On Channel 10

'A Dingo's Got My Baby: The Lindy Chamberlain Story'
Our eclectic team of writers from around Australia – and a couple beyond – with decades of combined experience and interest in all fields.

One of Australia's most publicised murder trials and most iconic stories is getting a television special, from the point of view and the words of the Chamberlain family.

It's a story of love, loss and redemption. On 17 August in 1980, Lindy, Michael and their three children were enjoying a camping trip in Central Australia, and just hours later, nine-week old baby Azaria is missing – a dingo seen coming out of the tent she was sleeping in.

Using never-before-seen footage 'The Lindy Chamberlain' story revisits the investigation 40 years later.

Also, for the first time in eight years, Lindy and her children speak exclusively and in detail about the harrowing night and the years that followed.

Eyewitnesses, family friends, judges, forensic experts, lawyers, media, professors, novelists, filmmakers and the family's church all add to the story through interviews and new perspectives.

"The Chamberlain’s story has remained at the forefront of Australia’s consciousness for the last 40 years and this documentary will explore themes that still intrigue audiences today," Screen Australia Head Of Documentary, Bernadine Lim says.

"With an impressive creative team including Ian Collie and Rob Gibson from Easy Tiger producing alongside Francine Finnane and Mark Joffe, who will be writing and directing respectively, we believe this story will be told with the care it deserves."

'A Dingo's Got My Baby: The Lindy Chamberlain Story' will air on Channel 10 soon (date TBC).
