This month, Pride March Adelaide is hosting a very special event with a very special cause.
The 'Heart Of A Dog' screening aims to raise money for the annual Pride March, a very important queer event that help to encourage acceptance and tolerance within the LGBT+ community.
Event Organiser Eric Kuhlmann lists five reasons to head along to the 'Heart Of A Dog' screening in Waterside.
Dogs
Big dogs, little dogs, fat dogs, skinny dogs. There will be dogs. You can bring yours or you can just enjoy the company of other people’s dogs. Plus there’s the Dog Show, where the dogs will compete in fun categories such as Best Dressed Dog, Best Trick and Dog That Looks Most Like Their Owner.

Laurie Anderson is a renowned American musician and artist. 'Heart Of A Dog' is her second feature film. It features her blind piano-playing terrier Lollabelle and is a truly beautiful meditation on life, love, death and… Dogs. It’s won many awards, even at the Venice film festival.
Community
This is a true community event, bringing together dog lovers, supporters of the queer community, and the local Port Adelaide community. The Born On Monday Choir will perform songs about dogs. Bad Jelly DJs will spin some vinyl, with an eclectic playlist of songs inspired by Laurie Anderson and… Dogs.
Stalls, Food, Bar and Coffee
There will be stalls from dog and queer friendly businesses and organisations, selling everything from vegan dog treats and pride merchandise to designer dog outfits and hand crafts. Plus there’ll be food, a bar, and good coffee.
Support Pride March Adelaide
The event is a fundraiser for Pride March Adelaide, the LGBTIQ march through the streets of Adelaide each November. Pride March attracts over 3,000 participants and it’s free to be a part of it, but it costs money to put on. By attending 'Heart Of A Dog' you’ll be helping make this important queer community event happen.
The 'Heart Of A Dog' screening takes place at Vitalstatistix in Waterside on 29 April.
