Now in its sixth year, 'The Reel Event' is set for its best event yet, with a new Sunday afternoon timeslot.
Initiated by the Rotary Club of Magill Sunrise, the screening not only showcases the best local films of the year – all made by South Australian filmmakers – but raises funds for the club’s homelessness and youth programmes.
This year’s event partners include the Hutt Street Centre and Eastern Adelaide Domestic Violence Service, as well as the Rotary youth leadership programmes RYLA (for 18-25 year-olds) and RYPEN (for 15-18 year-olds).
For just $25, attendees can enjoy afternoon tea and drinks, a Q&A session with the filmmakers and some amazing local films. Here’s a selection from the programme…
