5 Children Show Themes With Command Q

'Arthur'
Our eclectic team of writers from around Australia – and a couple beyond – with decades of combined experience and interest in all fields.

Perth trap duo Command Q's bio states: 'Think Die Antwoord meets Diplo. Add in a sound you’ve never heard before and you've got the next big thing in Australian music; Command Q.'

With live dates planned this month, Command Q share their favourite, children show theme songs with you. “Remembering the days we would fake being sick, just so we could get the day off school, lie in bed all day and wait until ABC Kids started in the arvo, then binge on about four hours of cartoons; these were our top five favourites. This is of course pre 'Pokemon'/ 'Dragon Ball Z Days'.”

1 'Thomas The Tank Engine'

Thomas takes the cake for the most episodes we've watched of anything. Combined, we watched SO MUCH Thomas, both in UK and Australia. We couldn't not take the theme song and do something with it.

2 'Arthur'

This could be the best theme song of any TV show ever. When have you ever heard this tune and had a bad day? The tune is actually written and performed by Ziggy Marley (Bob Marley's son) and the Melody Makers which makes it a solid '90s banger. Plus a cartoon about an aardvark? Genius.

3 'Trap Door'

'Trap Door' was always overlooked as a kid, until the age we realised how ridiculously difficult claymation is to produce. It was enjoyable to watch Burk be the only monster afraid of the dark and Willie Rushton nailed the voices so hard. We feel like they were 15 years ahead of the trap game... hue hue hue.

4 'Freaky Stories'

'It happened to a friend of a friend of mine.' How many times since being eight have we used this to describe a drunk/ rekt night? It's possibly the most applicable show to real life. All the life lessons. It's definitely not, but the intro made it so exciting it was impossible to turn off.

5 'Stickin' Around'

SCRAAAAAADLY. This definitely had the most painful animation to sit through, but as a kid it was the highlight of the afternoon. The epitome of being young and saying dumb sh*t to your friends, we literally loved this show.
