Melbourne rapper, Maundz, recently released his newest album, 'Nobody's Business'.
Littered with guest verses from some of Australia’s hip hop heavyweights (Hilltop Hoods, Trials, Seth Sentry and Billy Bunks), the LP continues with a tried-and-true formula for Maundz – a collection of boom-bap beats, tongue-in-cheek one-liners and gruff raps. “I guess I’m always trying to push the boundaries a bit,” he says.
“I’m profane, but I don’t take myself too seriously — although I do take the skill side of things seriously.”
Here Maundz shares his love of animation with his favourite 'best-animated characters'.
1. Moe Szyslak - 'The Simpsons'
Or as the ladies like to call him, "hey you behind the bushes". Moe is the quintessential cartoon outcast.{youtube}x5AsDUw_dGI{/youtube}
2. Randy Marsh - 'South Park'
"I thought this was America?" Any dude that puffs weed while bouncing around town on his nuts is alright in my books. One of the first tattoos I ever got was of Randy in butterfly form. It's bloody horrible.{youtube}jyzPtYpZUn4{/youtube}
3. Steve Smith - 'American Dad'
Steven Anita Smith, great middle name, can belt out a tune and is always on the quest to touch boobs. Get 'em bruh! Honourable mention to Roger as well, get-ups for days.4. Zapp Brannigan - 'Futurama'
The 25 Star general reppin DOOP army. This is another dude I've had inked with the wise words: 'the quickest way to a girl's bed is through her parents, have sex with them and you're in'. I really hope my girl's old man don't catch that one, he's a scary dude.{youtube}LywY26WVUvw{/youtube}
5. Carter Pewterschmidt - 'Family Guy'
Look man, this guy is just an asshole. Plain and simple. And that's why he's awesome.{youtube}ajIk_5hZ_8I{/youtube}
Maundz plays the Edinburgh Castle 4 December.
