Off the back of rave shows at WOMADelaide and Surfer's Paradise Live, three-piece Wasted Wanderers are making waves.
With the ability to win over all types of crowds with their catchy, blues sound, no matter where you hear them, they are guaranteed to make you wanna dance.
The band also have amazing taste in 1990s kids shows, if the following list is any indication.
1. The Ferals
This was a show about a rat called Rattus, a cat called Modigliana, a rabbit called Mixy, and a feral dog called Derryn. As I recall, they were very occa and they'd often beat the crap out of each other with random objects found in the bins they lived in. It's as if they took the formula from 'The Young Ones' and made a puppet-based kids show out of it. Bad-ass!{youtube}BW9wfaSydmU{/youtube}
2. Round The Twist
I'd hope this appears on every Top 5 Aussie '90s TV show list ever. It was the best. I'm sure it doesn't need much explaining. My favourite memory is from an episode where the kid Bronson had a water spirit enter his body and he urinated over the wall of the toilet into the school yard onto some kid's head, or something like that. I'll have whatever the writers of that show were on thanks.{youtube}KPxJ6RR40ZU{/youtube}
3. Biker Mice From Mars
The title describes the show's storyline perfectly. They weren't hiding anything. It was about mice that ride Harleys, from Mars, that for some reason are in Chicago. They also had bionic limbs, lazer guns and a shitload of one liners for every time they'd destroy their enemy. These dudes were bad-ass and deserve more nostalgic credit than they receive in my opinion.{youtube}UdSDuJu04xU{/youtube}
4. Blinky Bill
I feel sorry for the future generations of children that won't have this loveable koala in their lives. This show was more Aussie than Nollsy's BBQ cook-up on Australia Day. Blinky Bill was a talking koala, but he was relatable to us young, impressionable kids. He learned the hard lessons so we didn't have to. God-bless ya Blink.{youtube}ex-rFJT19dM{/youtube}
5. Cat Dog
Sometimes I think the writers of these shows just had hats with random verbs, nouns and adjectives written in them and they'd pull them out to form storylines. It's got to be the only possible explanation for 'Cat attached to Dog'. Apart from the show being hilarious, because they are opposites both as animal and personality wise, the writers also managed to get away with never having to explain how they go to the toilet. They just don't make them how they used to eh.Wasted Wanderers Tour Dates
