Style and pizzaz. It's showtime.

Welcome to the world of the Los Angeles Lakers at the tail end of the 1970s... a storied NBA franchise who are about to reimagine the game of basketball and they're bringing Hollywood along for the ride.

HBO's 'Winning Time: The Rise Of The Lakers Dynasty' focuses on the professional and personal lives of the 1980s Lakers, one of sports' most revered and dominant dynasties – a team that defined an era, both on and off the court.

The series, developed by executive producers Max Borenstein (MonsterVerse) and Adam McKay ('Anchorman', 'Funny Or Die') who also directs the pilot, is based on Jeff Pearlman's book 'Showtime: Magic, Kareem, Riley, and the Los Angeles Lakers Dynasty of the 1980s'.

John C. Reilly ('Walk Hard', 'Chicago') stars as Jerry Buss who buys the Lakers in 1979 and instantly implements the 'Showtime Lakers' philosophy.

Jason Clarke ('Silk Road', 'Pet Sematary') is Jerry West the Lakers General Manager, while screen legend Sally Field plays Jessie Buss (Jerry's mother), with Hadley Robinson ('Little Women') as Jeanie Buss (Jerry's daughter).

The ensemble cast also features Jason Segel ('How I Met Your Mother) as Lakers head coach Paul Westhead and Adrien Brody ('The Pianist', 'The French Dispatch') as Pat Riley a Lakers assistant coach who replaces Westhead.

Dr Solomon Hughes (a former Harlem Globetrotter) plays NBA legend Karem Abdul-Jabbar, DeVaughn Nixon ('The Bodyguard') portrays his father NBA player Norm Nixon, and newcomer Quincy Isaiah is Magic Johnson – the Lakers #1 draft pick in 1979 who revolutionises the game.

'Winning Time: The Rise Of The Lakers Dynasty' will premiere on Binge and Foxtel in March.
