Top 5 Cats Of The World

Top Cat

Lisa La Celle is excited to bring to the Brisbane Jazz Club this Friday her show, ‘Lessons In Love 3’, the final chapter, showcasing the good, bad and ugly side of that little thing called love!

With a voice as warm, colourful and sultry as her stage persona, it promises to be a night packed with fun and great music.

We asked Lisa to compile a Top 5 lists... she gave us ‘cats of the world’.

Garfield

Self assured, arrogant and handsome in a Gerard Depardieu kind of way (yes, I don't understand it either) he is the king of the bad boys and put gingers on the map!

Pink Panther

He's pink, can dance and hung out with Capucine and Peter Sellers – what more can I say.

Sylvester

This sufferin’ succotashin’ feline did for a lisp what proscuitto did for rockmelon (in the ‘90s) and is a fine example of perseverance and persistence.

Top Cat aka TC

He's the quick witted, dibble-dodging Hanna Barbera character who really knows how to work a dust bin lid; without Top Cat there would be no Tap Dogs!

Felicette

Unlike my other top five this cat really did exist. She was the first cat to be launched into space  by the French government (and returned safely) in October 1963. If being catapulted into space wasn't enough to bare, her lily-livered male college Felix (who did a runner on the launch day) got all the credit, having a commemorative stamp and his own cat food label in his honour. I think it is time Felicette was finally revered as the fearless feline she was.
