Top 5 Books With Kasra

Kasra

Since his first forays into drum & bass as a burgeoning young DJ, Kasra has made an indelible mark on the scene, a mark that continues to grow ever-stronger as his Critical Music empire prospers.

Currently in the country, Kasra completes his touring commitments this weekend with shows in Brisbane and Perth.

We asked the London native to supply a Top 5 list. “I like to read. I spend a lot of time travelling, so here’s my five favourite on-the-road books — the first one isn’t a pun, honestly.”

Jack Kerouac - On The Road

I’m a big fan of the Beat generation and this is one of the best — if not the best example.

Arthur Nersesian - The Fuck Up

I like gritty novels set in New York. This book about a loser and his messed-up life in The Big Apple is funny and moving.

William S. Burroughs - Junky

A sleazy, but wonderfully written book about drug culture written in a way that makes it compelling.

Douglas Coupland - Generation X

Slackers of the world unite; a tale about not a lot, but so readable and enjoyable.

J.D. Salinger - Catcher In The Rye

I recently re-read this, a book I first picked up when I was in school. I think I’ll be picking this up again in ten years — a simple, short story of being different.
