The colour festival, which has come to be known as Holi, is still celebrated to this day throughout South-East Asia.
It overcomes barriers of separation as young and old, rich and poor, man and woman, friend and stranger, all take to the streets to throw colours in an act of unity. In essence, it is all about cultivating human spirit.

SpringFlare is inspired by this magnificent ancient Indian festival. Hosted this year on the 10 October by the University Of Queensland, the festival aims to bridge the gap between all different ages, genders, ethnicities and social/ economic classes.
The essence of SpringFlare is that it bridges the gap and welcomes everyone! This is a drug and alcohol-free event, so everyone is invited; from toddlers to the elderly. Children under the age of 12 years will be granted free admission if accompanied by an adult.
The colour used at SpringFlare adheres to the strictest standards of safety and is a natural flour-based powder that is skin-safe, non-toxic, and enviro-friendly. Most of the colour powder can be dusted away with the remainder washed off with water and soap/ detergent. SpringFlare has a strict policy in order to ensure the safety of all our attendees that no colour but that purchased through SpringFlare may be brought to the festival. It's recommended that festival on goers buy a SpringFlare shirt along with their tickets and colour. Alternatively it's ideal to wear anything white, as it'll act like a blank canvas for the colour!
