If you're the type who likes playing with glitter, fabric, and hot glue guns, Splendour In The Craft will ensure you get your fix at the festival.
After its successful debut in 2013, Splendour In The Craft will return this year to offer festival-goers an artsy, crafty, hands-on experience on top of all the music and partying. Expect a wide selection of stalls with stock ranging from guitar pick charm bracelets to piñata boom boxes, street theatre, and all sorts of art and installations. There's even "beard embellishment" on offer for all the men tagging along with their partners.
In the spirit of the festival, Splendour In The Craft has teamed up with Work-Shop to host a singles mixer on Thursday night, aptly called Craft Singles, where participants will have to speed date while collaborating on improvised craft projects. So if you're single and looking, consider hitting up Nan for her best arts and crafts secrets.
If you're lacking in the requisite know-how, there will also be workshops hosted by some of Australia's finest craftwork artists, including Beci Orpin, Kitiya Palaskas, and Fancy Free. There's even word that some of the musicians from the Splendour lineup will be present at these workshops.
So if you're looking to add a little bit of handmade pizzazz to your festival attire, stroll on over to Splendour In The Craft and see what catches your fancy.
