The City Of Stonnington (Melbourne) Pets In The Park event returns to Central Park this month.
It’s the purrfect day out for you and your animal friends. There are presentations, demonstrations, competitions, games, information and market stalls sure to pique your interest and tickle your feathers/scales.
Pets In The Park has something for everyone. Kids can enjoy free activities like crafts and face painting, and grown-ups can explore upwards of 40 market, animal welfare and information stalls. Plus, food and beverage with Campos Coffee.
You can get advice for your stubborn pooch from Alan Shephard, Vice President of the Australian Association Of Professional Dog Trainers. Channel 10’s ‘Pooches At Play’ duo Lara Sharon and Dr Melissa Meehan will host presentations on looking after your pet’s mental health, and taking care of senior dogs and cats.
Melbourne Canine Freestyle will be there with talented dogs performing all sorts of exciting tricks, and the Superstar Competition will featured Best Dressed and Best Trick categories, with special guest judge Aussie Yuki on the panel.
It’s not just cats and dogs getting all the love – beekeepers from Backyard Honey will provide info about all the essentials of beekeeping. You can also hear from ABC Organic Gardener and chicken expert Jessamay Miller on how to have happy, healthy and productive backyard chickens.
Last but not least, conservationists WildlifeXposure will host interactive native animal encounters, highlighting the threats faced by many of our native endangered species. Snakes, lizards, and other scaley animals await!
