Get ready for the Milton Markets, Brisbane's new inner-west marketplace.
After the local uproar of the popular Red Hill Farmers Markets closure, the popular markets will return bigger and better than ever on 17 April. The new Cribb Street location boasts more farm-direct products, premium arts and crafts, live music and activities, and improved public transport access and parking (350 car spaces).
Packed with over 120 stalls, the interactive marketplace is a sure-fire hit for families and genuine artisans looking for the freshest foods, funkiest hand-crafted jewellery as well as quality goods and products you won't find anywhere else.
The grand opening also includes urban apiarist Jack Stone. Jack runs bee-keeping workshops for beginners, teaching the essentials to bee-keeping in city areas. This workshop will guide you through the benefits and rewards of keeping bees, including the responsibilities, requirements, realities and amazing advantages to contributing to your neighbourhood ecology.
The launch will also feature Bunker Coffee, an outstanding Brisbane staple known for their fantastic coffee beans and cold brew. Joining Bunker is an array of stores, including White Gold Creamery, The Cheese Pleaser, Jumping Red Ant, Bee One Third and Paddock to Plate Meats.
Those who are without a car, the Milton Markets are close to the City Cat and bus routes. They're also a two-minute walk from the Milton train station. Parking is free for the grand opening, and $2 every other week, with the markets open every Sunday from 6am-12pm.
With free entry, pony rides, jumping castles, taste tests, and live entertainment, where else would you rather be on a sleepy Sunday?
