Brisbane CBD workers will be able to celebrate Melbourne Cup day this year at a free live site for the first time. The free screening will be at Post Office Square and will kick off from 11am.
Across the city other venues hosting race celebrations include Rush, Stamford Plaza, Saké, Treasury Casino and Hotel, Moda, The Villager and Customs House. Entertainment will include live music, best-dressed and lucky door prizes and big screens to watch the all-important race.
For revelers heading out of The City, a free bus to Doomben Racecourse will depart from CBD locations, beginning at Eagle Street Pier from 11.15am.
