Curated independent art, fashion and design stalls, The Finders Keepers Markets are a bi-annual event that showcase the work of emerging designers and artists from all around Australia and even New Zealand.
Launched in 2008 at Carriageworks in Sydney, The Finders Keepers moved interstate to Brisbane in 2009 and in 2010 were proud to touch down in Melbourne. With a passion for bringing independent design to the forefront and encouraging the Australian emerging art and design scene, Finders Keepers have created markets that maintain a grass roots level and have work of high standards in both quality and innovative design.
Aiming to create a platform for emerging designers, artists and musicians to showcase their work in a supportive and creative atmosphere, Finders Keepers encourage and inspire others to harness their creativity and try to help to educate communities to invest in handmade, locally designed and produced independent design.
Bridging the gap between local weekly style markets and design trade fairs and exhibitions, the event hopes to give opportunities for designers to gain exposure and experience interaction direct with customers and the community. Hosting over 85 store holders at each event, The Finders Keepers markets prove to be a major hub for artists and designers alike.
Hosting in Brisbane for their eighth year this July, local designers of fashion, accessories, jewellery, textiles, art, stationary, home-wares, children's toys will be displaying their wares. Into The Fold, Alli Keirnan Table, A Boy Named Aaron and Belinism are some of the stalls that market-goers should look out for.
Debuting at the Melbourne Finders Keepers will be Ada + Cedar, Blossom & Cat, Craftsman Chin, Femke Testiles, Harry & Jane, Kisah, Huxbaby and many more.
The Finders Keepers Markets will be held at Brisbane's Old Museum 4-5 July and Melbourne's Royal Exhibition Building, 17-19 July.
