The Lego Bandits Strike Again

An estimated $70,000 worth of LEGO has been stolen from toy stores in New South Wales.

According to an article published by the Herald Sun, the thieves are targeting the Technic and City Lego series and using angle grinders and other tools to remove doors and locks of toy stores.

But why would anyone want to steal $70,000 worth of LEGO? Is there a possible LEGO castle being created? Perhaps housing NSW Origin players who are capable of breaking the State's losing streak? We think this is very likely.

Police, however, are speculating that the LEGO bandits are selling their spoils online or at local markets.

Unfortunately for toy store owners and victims the LEGO sets don't have individual serial numbers per box, making them harder to track.

One of the thieves is believed to be aged between 50-60, with a medium build, 167cm tall and was wearing dark trousers, a long sleeve shirt and a cap and used a shopping trolley to transport 300 boxes through the front door.
