The Brisbane Showgrounds will be viewed in a new light come May when over a tonne of neon paint is splashed throughout the venue for Illumi Run.
Illumi Run, which is already hugely successful in Malaysia, China and Singapore, will officially launch their Australian events program with the May 16 event in Brisbane.
Promoted as a 'party on the run', event organisers are hoping to attract over 7,000 runners for a night of live entertainment and neon fun. Multiple DJs will perform as registered runners move between a series of themed, entertainment zones and are spattered with non-toxic, neon paint.
Infinitis Productions General Manager, Matt Kowal advised the run promises a great festival atmosphere for participants. “Illumi Run is a break away from the more serious runs that you have here in Brisbane. We definitely don’t intend for the race to be competitive, it’s more like a moving festival.”
Event registrations start from $50 for groups and $55 for individuals. $5 from every registration will be donated to the McGrath Foundation.
Other Illumi runs are planned to happen nationally.
