Griff’s Top Five Homegrown Vegetable Plants

Griff

Musician, songwriter, DJ and sound mangler, Griff is happiest writing his own brand of catchy electronica, which has a strong emphasis on broken beats, melody and soul.

He's released a few EPs, an album with his brother under their ‘Dersu Uzala’ moniker, a handful of remixes and last year released his debut full length album, ‘Interstate’. The Victorian also has a mean veggie patch that he’s very proud about, so much so he’s named several of the plants.

Here are his top five species.

5. Mikhail Gorbachev - Red Russian Kale Plant

Mikhail is an elder statesmen of the garden. A little long in the tooth now and we can only imagine what kind of a world he would’ve created had Boris Yeltsin not been such a boozehound.

4. Chris Cornell - Sweetcorn

Strong, spindly and a little strung out, Chris is still holding it down with ease. He's got a good ear, used to great effect on such hits as ‘Ty Cobb’.

3. Robert De Habanero - Habano Chilli Plant

"All the plants come out at night: tomato, corn, rocket, beetroot, basil. Sick, venal. Someday a real rain will come and wash all these plants out of the garden."

2. Eggman - Lebanese Eggplant

Goo Goo G'Joob.

1. Jacki Weaver and Hugo Weaving - Tomato Plants

Two independent plants have joined forces to create an ever moving, matrix-like hivemind. We're going to have a lot of sauce. Ho.
