The south side of Brisbane will again hold the Green Heart Fair, Brisbane’s biggest free community festival.
It highlights sustainability by promoting innovative green living in a family-friendly and entertaining environment. Everyone can come along and discover sustainability, while having an extremely enjoyable day.
The Green Heart Fair has an abundance of entertainment and activities for every age group. Over 100 of Brisbane’s leading sustainability organisations, community groups, artisans, foodies, green-thumbs, conservationists, businesses and eco-experts will share their knowledge about living with sustainability in mind.
The festival revolves around getting your hands dirty with workshops and looking at the true meaning of sustainable living by discovering everything from tending to organic gardens to learning how to repurpose household “rubbish”. BrisStyle Markets artisans will showcase their sustainable creations; celebrity chefs will display new cooking techniques and the Octonauts live shows has a tonne of active and hands on activities for the kids.
The absolute favourite of the festival will be the Brisbane Billycart Championships, where you can cheer on your favorite homemade cart. Channel 7 celebrities Bill McDonald, Sammie O'Brien, 'MKR'/'Houses Rules’ contestants will be there to help make a great day out for absolutely anyone.
Brisbane City Council and CitySmart’s Green Heart Fair is happening at Carindale Recreation Reserve on 11 September.
