Breaking up is hard to do, but here's something that will help get you through it.
'Fuck Off And Die' is self-help guide of sorts for dealing with the first month of a break-up, which is usually the hardest. Written by Margaret River local Sarah Robinson and illustrated by Jade Foo, it's filled with gems of advice like: "If you need to chain smoke to get through it, do it."
This is not 'Eat, Pray, Love' or 'Chicken Soup For The Soul'; 'Fuck Off And Die' is unashamedly designed just to get you through that first shitty month, whatever that takes.
"I wrote the book after my shitty break-up because I read a bunch of articles telling me to meditate and be wholesome, but I could hardly get through an hour of the day, let alone do a freaking downward dog," Sarah says. "So I did other stuff that made me feel better straight away; they’re the activities that make up the book."
Filled with activities to keep the blues at bay, 'Fuck Off And Die' also doubles perfectly as a last-minute gift for the lone lover in your life. Sarah will launch the book later this month at The Bird in Perth.
Written with a superhuman dose of humour, the book carries a serious message, with part proceeds from the sale of the book being donated to a shelter in south Western Australia that supports women leaving situations of domestic abuse.
The 'Fuck Off And Die' activity book launch takes place at The Bird (Perth) 19 June.
