Brisbane’s First Low & Slow BBQ Festival

Bibs at the ready; are you ready to drool Brisbane?

Low & Slow BBQ has been gaining a lot of momentum locally during the past 12 months; so much so, Brisbane food venue Wandering Cooks will host the first Brisbane BBQ Festival this July.

This style of cooking encompasses anything cooked over long periods of time at a low temperature – a technique pioneered in the US: Texas, Memphis, Kansas City, and the Carolinas. Beef, chicken, pork ribs and lamb are mixed with smoke, spice, tradition and passion, with end result so flavourful, tender and smokey, the meat falls straight off the bone.

Bris BBQ Fest 2015.2The day will include a selection of Brisbane’s best food trucks; and if you ask nicely, some complimentary samples from the BBQ teams, who'll be competing in the inaugural Brisbane BBQ Championships.

Additionally, there will be a marketplace with boutique stalls providing an array of BBQ- related products to utilise at home. While DJ Cutloose will entertain with his inventive ‘Cut And Cook’ project.

The Brisbane BBQ Festival will pop-up at Wandering Cooks (1 Fish Lane South Brisbane) 18-19 July, 12-9pm. Free entry.
