5 White Foods With Spirit Bunny

Spirit Bunny

Local noise-pop merchants and manipulators of vintage technology (Commodore 64s, Casio keyboards anyone?), Spirit Bunny are also lovers of food, particularly the white varieties.

1. Brie cheese

It's like hard, white stuff on the outside, gooey white on the inside. For the record, Blue>Brie>Camembert. It's all about the tang and that little bit of bitterness. But then blue isn't really white, so brie wins this by default.

2. Mashed potato

So many good ways to do this. Butter, oil, herbs, yoghurt. Weirdest mash I make is sweet potato and apple. Goes well with curried black-eyed beans.

3. Salt

As Anticon rapper said: "salt on everything". It's even great with dessert. Salted-caramel anyone?

4. Popcorn

Only good when it's actually white (or maybe slightly golden, with plenty of melted butter). That colourful, sweet popcorn? Terrible. Always stale and it tastes weird. It has to be salty and savoury and obviously unhealthy.

5. Marshmallow spread

This stuff is bad, so bad it is good. You buy it in a jar, and spread it on other white foods like 99c bread. Or you just eat it straight out of the jar. Inspiring stuff. We were definitely inspired.

Spirit Bunny play The Bearded Lady 12 June. The group's new EP, 'Marshmallows', is available now.
