5 WA Suburbs Musos Will Want To Live In

Verge Collection

Hailing from the infamously fertile musical landscape of Perth, Western Australia, Verge Collection balance classic-pop sensibilities and working-class poetry to channel the collective conscious of suburban Australian millennials.

Songwriter and frontman Ben Arnold takes that a step further and lists the 5 Western Australian suburbs he reckons any muso would give their Newstart allowance to live in. We think.

White Gum Valley

Fremantle is undeniably a hot bed of local talent, but will your Newstart allowance cover the cost of your rent and nang bills? Probably not. White Gum Valley isn't Fremantle, but they have the same local council so you can sure as hell claim it is.

Yokine

God bless MC Hunter for writing one fifth of my list. Yokine, drugs and crime.

North Perth

Wanna live with six other people, two cats and two dogs? Good because the only places that seem to be going in North Perth are ambling crack dens (communes). Walking distance to your gigs and easy access to Perth's best dealers but not much in the way of home security. Probably the best of the lot be honest.

Northbridge

Neon lights, fights and sketchy c#nts. I can't afford this suburb and don't know anyone that can, but it'd be pretty awesome if I could.

Armadale

The reality is that Newstart really doesn't travel that far. Which is ironic because of all the travel you'll be doing when you live at the back end of arse-fuck nowhere.
