With healthy lashing of psych, freak-out, blues, sunny pop and soul, Brisbane four-piece Baskervillain's brand of rock & roll is a toe-tapping/ hair swirling affair.
The band's resume already features supports for: The Cairos, Lurch & Chief, The Belligerents and WAAX. And with their stupendously good 'Modern Lows' EP, you can expect plenty of good things from Baskervillain... maybe even a trip to the big house if the following Top 5 is any indication.
1. Ned Kelly
The dude rocked the beard way before it was cool and is just a bit of an Aussie Robin Hood I guess. He was also known to dual wield pistols.
2. Anton Chigurh
Just an all-'round madman, but so calm and collected. Anyone who uses a silenced shotgun is a complete badass in my books.{youtube}OLCL6OYbSTw{/youtube}
3. The Nazis from The Blues Brothers
1980s Nazis that get forced to jump into a river. Classic.{youtube}-ukFAvYP3UU{/youtube}
4. Heath Ledger as The Joker
Heath nailed this role as the psychopathic Joker. Such a creepy, yet almost charming dude. Heath made him look so cool.{youtube}u8PxG5zvgOM{/youtube}
5. Dr. Neo Cortex
A childhood favourite from 'Crash Bandicoot' video game. I always found this guy extremely annoying and I guess that's why he's on this list. Bloody Cortex.
Baskervillain play QPAC's Front Yard Music this Friday, 3 July from 5pm.
