Tattoos are more popular and widely accepted than ever before – and now, they don't have to be forever.
A Registered Nurse, Calli Gregor loves ink, but didn't have the artistic ability to consider a career in tattooing, so she blended her two passions together to become a laser tattoo removalist.
“I got my first tattoo at 16. I now have substantially more and I love them. Each one has been a fairly considered process except one spontaneous inking, the smallest one I have. This led me to do some research into tattoo removal and here I am!
“Given my artistic failings, I was never going to be a tattoo artist, and my medical training stood me in a good place to pursue this interest... The option to fade for a cover up, or completely remove is the norm and I’m sure there are plenty of people who are happy about that!”
Calli is the owner and operator of Reverse Ink, “an extension of my passion for body art,” she says. She uses state of the art equipment, designed and made in Europe, plus a cooling machine alongside the laser, for customer comfort. “It's one of few machines to incorporate all laser wavelengths to address all tattoo colours.”
But if you don't wish to visit Calli in the near future, here are 5 things to remember before going under the needle:
Home Jobs
If your mate was good at art at school, purchasing a tattoo gun online does not make him/her a tattooist. If you choose to be their canvas, my number is 0414 099 944.Aussie Pride
Southern Cross tattoos should be banned. We all know where we’re from and you run the risk of looking like you couldn’t come up with anything more original.Culture Fraud
Be culturally sensitive. If you have no connection to a culture or ethnicity why would you tattoo yourself with their designs or language? You’ll look silly.Facials
Face tattoos should be well considered and thought out, for about 20 years or however long it takes to change your mind (cultural ink excluded). Lazering it off will really make your eyes water.Location, Location, Location!
Gravity is not your friend. The pert, tight appearance of your body at 20 will not last forever. So, if you don’t want your proud, regal wolf tattoo to end up looking like a blood hound, think seriously about where you put it.Reverse Ink is located in Nundah, contact Calli Gregor:
